My name is Kenzie. Co-Owner and Director of Little Lotus Learning. I am a Montessorian with 18 years of classroom experience including 4 at Lotus Learning which is for school aged children. I pride myself on creating a safe loving environment when each individual child's needs are met.
As a child, going to school was always very difficult for me. I was anxious to please and grew up in an environment where I was heavily criticized when I didn't do something perfectly.

In 4th grade I had a teacher who saw me, Ms. Patton. She praised me for asking questions, taught me that I was important, and mistakes are how we learn. Her words stayed with me the rest of my life and I've always wanted to be a teacher like Ms. Patton.

My personal life experiences and those inside the classroom have shaped my philosophy that children's hearts and minds are more important than academics. And when children are developmentally ready for academics I want them to feel successful and love learning.

I hold my Bachelors in Child Development and an Associates in Child Psychology. I hold four separate Montessori certificates from NAMC, including Infant Toddler, Early Childhood, Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary.
